3D Monster Truck

I hope everyone is having a nice and relaxing weekend! Here in LA the weather is simply beautiful! I hope it is the same for everyone else!

I had to share these images with you. This weekend we celebrated my little boys 4th birthday, with what else but a MONSTER TRUCK PARTY!

I searched EVERYWHERE for a great cake designer to make a custom Monster Truck cake. After a friend recommended me to Laura Barker, the process began. Actually, the process for me was quite simple. I explained what I wanted and that following weekend, it was complete!

She is extremely well priced, and had a variety of flavors that came standard. I gave her the full control, just provided her with his favorite color. She is a set decorator during the day, and a cake decorator at night...and she clearly has a nice sense of style!

Most cakes that look good, don't usually taste good..that is NOT the case on this one..the cake was so light, and the frosting was delicious! Thank you again, Laura..the cake was the talk of the party!

If anyone is interested in having a custom 3D cake made, let me know and I will provide you with her contact information! She's a pleasure to work with!

Have a beautiful Sunday!

As always, Enjoy!

Beautiful Week...

I hope everybody had a wonderful and relaxing weekend! It's Monday again..which means back to reality.

Enjoy these beautiful hand painted and embroidered designs from FROMENTAL. In my field, I work with textiles and I love running across great, 20th Century wall papers and textiles.

I've worked with Fromental for quite some time, however I never really got a chance to study the detail in their designs...they are simply GORGEOUS!

These designs are hand painted and embroidered on Silk, with a painted and lacquered-effect background.

Their motto, "all good things come to those who wait" and I swear I live by that saying. That just makes me love them that much more!

This design is inspired by a famous Chinese painting of a thousand butterflies, a part-painted / part -embroidered swarm flutters around the room.

Check out their website, www.fromental.co.uk for more!

Hope this brings a little sunshine to every body's Monday!

Enjoy!
